Dizziness, Motion Sickness, Balance
The visual and vestibular systems must be perfectly synced at a 1:1 ratio for us to process the motion of our body and surroundings. The vestibular system is in our inner ears and provides information for balance and movement. The eyes see movement in the central and peripheral vision and should “see” the same motion that our inner ears “feel”.
A mismatch here causes symptoms like:
Dizziness
Nausea
Headaches
Motion sickness
Car sickness
Poor balance
Visual Motion Sensitivity (overwhelmed in busy places like grocery and big box stores)
Our treatment for these symptoms centers around syncing the visual system with the vestibular system. Along with vision therapy, we can prescribe therapeutic lenses that provide comfort while driving, exercising, and navigating busy places like malls, grocery stores, and big-box stores.
